Limited Warranty

S.E. SMARTERS ENGINEERED LTD (“STEER”) warrants the STEER ST013B device to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of twenty-four (24) months from the original date of purchase.

1. Coverage

This Limited Warranty covers the original consumer purchaser only and is non-transferable. It applies wherever STEER officially distributes via steer.so. The warranty period begins on the date of original retail purchase by the end-user customer.

2. What is covered

• Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship
• Electronic component failure under normal use conditions
• Bluetooth pairing or communication failures not caused by user error

3. What is NOT covered

• Damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, or unauthorised modification
• Damage from use of the device in vehicles other than 12 V passenger vehicles (e.g. 24 V trucks or industrial systems)
• Damage from exposure to extreme temperatures, liquids, or hazardous environments
• Cosmetic damage, including scratches, dents, or fading not affecting function
• Products with removed, altered, or unreadable serial numbers
• Products purchased from unauthorised resellers
• Software or firmware issues caused by third-party applications

4. How to claim warranty service

To request warranty service:

1. Email [email protected] with your order number, device serial number, and a description of the issue.
2. Our support team will respond within 2 business days with troubleshooting steps or a return authorisation.
3. If a return is authorised, ship the device using the instructions provided. We will, at no cost to you, repair or replace the unit. Postage and return shipping for valid warranty claims is at our cost.

5. US Consumer Rights — Magnuson-Moss

For consumers within the United States, this is a Limited Warranty as defined under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, 15 U.S.C. §2301 et seq., and the FTC's Pre-Sale Availability Rule, 16 C.F.R. Part 701.

Implied Warranties. Implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the term of this Limited Warranty (twenty-four months from the date of original purchase). Some U.S. states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

Incidental and Consequential Damages. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, STEER's liability is limited to repair, replacement, or refund of the device. STEER is not liable for any incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of use, lost profits, towing costs, vehicle repair costs, or rental vehicles. Some U.S. states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

Informal Dispute Resolution. STEER does not require the use of an informal dispute resolution mechanism prior to pursuing legal remedies. You may contact us at any time at [email protected] to attempt informal resolution.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, STEER's liability under this Limited Warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the defective device, or a refund of the purchase price. STEER shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of the use of, or inability to use, the device.

Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits STEER's liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) gross negligence or wilful misconduct; (d) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable mandatory consumer law.
